A six-week study course to encourage and enrich your church’s life of corporate prayer.

The book of Acts shows us that prayer was at the heart of the life of the New Testament church. From the earliest days, the ‘devoted themselves to … prayer’ (Acts 2:42). And they received some spectacular answers, such as the release of Peter from prison (Acts 12) and the call of Paul and Barnabas to mission (Acts 13).

If your church does not already have a group meeting regularly for prayer, Together in Prayer is designed to help you to begin. And if you do have a regular prayer group, Together in Prayer will encourage them and help to focus their prayers for the coming of God’s kingdom in your church, your community and the wider world.

Our aim is that each person who takes part in Together in Prayer will:

  • understand the reasons God invites us to unite in prayer,

  • become desirous of meeting together regularly for prayer,

  • be confident in the power of prayer,

  • be ready to engage with a variety of ways of praying together,

  • grow in an attitude of humble dependence on God.

The method of Together in Prayer is one that has been fruitful in building disciples throughout the majority world. Group members are encouraged to listen to a short podcast, read the teaching input and respond to two or three questions before the session. They then come to the session ready to share their experience and insights. And, most important, there is plenty of time during the group session to practice praying together.

Like Saints Alive! and Alive in Christ, Together in Prayer includes daily Bible readings to enhance the learning from the course and encourage the habit of regular Bible reading.
