Bishop Mark succeeded Archbishop Sentamu as ReSource's Patron in August 2020 as +Mark became Bishop of Chester. In welcoming Mark as our Patron +John Holbrook, Chair of the ReSource Trustees, said "Bishop Mark is a Christian leader of spiritual passion, deep wisdom and real vision. I'm thrilled to welcome him as ReSource's new Patron". 

Mark is married to Lindsay and they have two children, both of who are studying at University. They live in Chester, where Mark has served as Bishop since 2020. He has been supporting ReSource since its relaunch in 2004 and is delighted to act as Patron.

Prior to coming to Chester, Mark was Bishop of Berwick in the Diocese of Newcastle, following a number of years as Warden of Cranmer Hall training church leaders and others. He has served in local-churches in Ripon, Doncaster, Wirral and Coventry, and has authored a number of works including 'The Introvert Charismatic'.

In his spare time he will be found tinkering with a landrover, riding a motorbike, or out on the hills.

+Mark says, "The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed…it is like yeast…it is found in the most ordinary of places where God is at work renewing, restoring, growing, and changing lives by the work of His Spirit. This is what ReSource exists to serve, encourage, and enable, and I am honoured to have been asked to serve as Patron. May His Kingdom come!"
