The Revd Chris Youngman
Chris first worked in Banking – supporting small businesses and their owners. During that time, he served in the local church as treasurer, church warden and small group leader as well as supporting children’s and youth ministry.
He was called in a clear and dramatic way into ordained ministry in 2009. After training at St. John’s college, he served his curacy in Southwell and Nottingham diocese and his incumbency in Peterborough diocese. Here he led a church in a newly formed parish, without its own building, which grew out of, and continued to have a heart for, children and families ministry.
He became rural dean, supporting church leaders in a variety of contexts and assisting in the recruitment process of a number of appointments. Having experienced a significant bereavement and a couple of medical issues, he decided to retire early in 2023.
He was delighted to join the ReSource family in 2024 and continue to live out his life-long call to “comfort those with the comfort he has received” 2 Cor 1:3-4. As a Companion and now supervisor, he is able, in retirement, to use the training, skills and share the experience he gained in ministry. His hope always is to support others to reach their God-given potential as they live out God’s call on their lives in the power of the Spirit..
